As a result of lipoedema, Nicci had surgery to remove excess skin from the inside of her arms. While the surgery was successful, Nicci was left with a scar along each of her arms.

Initially, I felt worse than I did before I had my surgery. I now had slimmer arms. But I had two very large red scars, which I felt prevented me even more from wearing certain things.
